About the Backhaul Blog

Purpose

The Backhaul Blog is an online discussion forum for all issues relating to the provision of backhaul for mobile networks

Aims

We want to change the way the industry thinks about backhaul by inviting that industry to talk to each other about the issues that surround backhaul for mobile networks.

Mobile operators around the world are increasingly offering enhanced data services. Whilst those services provide considerable added value to consumers and businesses, they dramatically increase the requirement for ‘backhaul capacity’ from the mobile cell site to the core network.

How you can take part

The easiest way that you can take part is to comment on an article, and join in with the discussions that appear on The Backhaul Blog

Whether you’re commenting on an article, or want to be an author and write a top-level article, you’ll find these rules invaluable.

How to comment on an article

People say things.

  • Be honest. Only publish what you believe is true. If you’re in doubt, either don’t comment, or indicate your reservations.
  • If you abuse, you lose.
  • Everyone has a right to an opinion. You may disagree with that opinion. If you do, then say so in a reasoned and well constructed discussion. It’s not sufficient to just say “that’s stupid“
  • Stick to the subject. If you have another idea or opinion, have conviction, and become an author and post it as a separate discussion point.
  • Don’t blatantly advertise a product or a company. By all means make reference.
  • You don’t need to explain everything. We’re intelligent people. Don’t load your discussion with technical detail for the sake of it. If your discussion warrants detail then link to an article, and give the reader a choice to find out more.
  • No bragging. You’re great. Enough said.
  • The Backhaul Blog accepts all spelling and grammar and it has no way of checking for accuracy. If spelling was not your strongest school subject, use your favourite word processor, to create and check your comments or article, and cut-and-paste to The Backhaul Blog.
  • That said, please refrain from making your article a critique of writing style or spelling ability.

Remember, blogging is public and forms an almost permanent record of what you say. Use your power wisely.

Do more – become an author

The Backhaul Blog needs you. Without top-level articles on which to comment there would be no discussion. There would be no Backhaul Blog.

If you’ve got something good to say. If you want to be heard above all of the noise. If you want to make a change to the backhaul industry, write an article for The Backhaul Blog.
